With the introduction of IBM's PCjr in 1985, Roy became a self taught computer nut. In other words, over the years, he has learned the "hard way". He has experimented with hardware, software, web site development, networking, servers, databases, and programming. He has added asp.net, PHP, MBBS, and DNN software to his arsenal.
ComputerGuy is the name of Roy's small business. After his last retirement, he worked for six months on retainer for a local business. That turned into more time than he wanted. His intent for ComputerGuy, then and now, was to keep his mind active, maybe solve an occasional problem and/or help someone get started with technology.
He has built many computers, repaired even more, built and maintains a number of domains/websites, and developed several database programs including two for very unusual payroll and manufacturing processes. His websites have included interactive portals, and bulletin boards.
One of Roy's sites, ccmoaa.org site, won national communications awards for 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011.
